On Friendship

“Just thinking about a friend makes you want to do a happy dance, because a friend is someone who loves you in spite of your faults.”
― Charles M. Schulz

I will be forever grateful for the friends I have in my life.  We do not always keep in the best of touch; we do not have to to talk to each other every day, but I know that they will be there for me when I need to share happy news, complain about a crappy day at work, share a funny quote that my son said that day, or exclaim over my amazing shoe clearance find!  And they know that I am here for them in exactly the same way.  To offer reassurances when they are feeling down or not up to a task, to tell them it is going to be okay when something bad happens – because we will MAKE it be okay, to tell them that, yes, everything does happen for a reason, to exclaim over an amazing show clearance find!  After all, that is what friends are for.  This is how friends – real, true, honest-to-goodness, soul-similar, friends-for-the-rest-of-life, can-pick-up-a-phone-after-a-month-and-converse-like-only-a-day-has-passed, or tell-crazy-jokes-with-the-same-twisted-sense-of-humor-and-laugh-uproariously – are.

I really love my friends – old and new – and I really just felt that today I needed to tell them that.

Thanks for being in my life friends! 🙂
